Focus Minerals Ltd is an Australian-based exploration and development Company which commenced gold production in the world-class Coolgardie-Kalgoorlie-Widgiemooltha region of Western Australia in April 2008

Focus Minerals is the largest landholder in the Coolgardie Greenstone Belt located in Western Australia, 560km east of Perth and 35km west of the ‘Super Pit’ in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. More than 2.6 million ounces of gold has been produced from the Coolgardie gold belt alone since 1892. Focus holds the mineral rights to more than 210sq km of tenements including an extensive inventory of Measured, Indicated and Inferred gold resources as well as the 1.2mtpa Three Mile Hill processing plant.

The Company commenced maiden commercial gold production in April 2008 through ore sourced from the Company’s flagship Perseverance Deposit (Probable Reserve of 100,000oz). Earlier this year, the nearby Countess Deposit (Probable Reserve of 29,000oz) was brought into production with ore from both deposits currently being treated at the nearby Greenfields treatment plant.

Gold

Focus has recently commenced gold production at its wholly-owned 1.8moz Coolgardie Gold Project with initial ore sourced from the high-grade Perseverance Project. Perseverance is forecast to yield production of approximately 100,000 ounces over 21 months, with upside to more ounces and a higher gold price.

Ongoing exploration drilling in the surrounding Tindals Mining Centre providing further strong evidence of the potential for surrounding areas within the Tindals Mining Centre to host high-grade gold deposits similar to Perseverance.

Nickel

Focus’ nickel interests lie predominantly in the 100%-owned Nepean Nickel Project, located some 25km south of Coolgardie, Western Australia. Historically, the mine produced approximately 32,000 tonnes of contained nickel between 1970 to 1987 at a recovered grade of 2.99% nickel from 1.1Mt of ore.

A Feasibility Study was completed at Nepean in 2008, however a commercial decision to mine has been deferred in order to capture a potentially greater return from the project from expected nickel price increases.

Focus has received outstanding results from shallow step-out and in-fill drilling to the south of the historical Nepean Nickel Mine with drilling providing further confirmation of the excellent potential of the Project to contain a substantial, high-grade and shallow nickel resource.
